“My experience working with Michael Davis began with Tandem Computers in 1998 and continued until late 2005 when I retired. At the 2005 date, we were both employed by Hewlett Packard assigned to the NonStop Executive Action Team (EXACT). Selected to act as ombudsmen for Tandem Executives, this elite group of four system analysts were tasked with solving extraordinary customer problems for NonStop customers which included Telephone Companies, Airlines, Banks and Stock Exchanges. We worked with customer Executives and Board Members as well as Senior Executive Managers, internal (company) and external consultants, developers, & Support Groups in order to resolve challenging issues and achieve customer satisfaction. Our tasks were to turn-around badly deteriorated business situations generated by changes to the environment, software, hardware, and/or peripherals in the customer’s business operation. While we were in this position, Michael successfully handled numerous international assignments in Australia, China, Chile, Brazil, as well as assignments in the United States. The work demanded crisp and clear communications with the customer and its business, development and operations teams and committees. Also required were succinct, regular and timely status reports. Assignments were chartered by Tandem Senior Executives and lasted several weeks to several months. The EXACT members handled numerous active accounts simultaneously. Exceptional performance above and beyond normal business practices was always expected by the customer and Tandem’s Executives. Michael consistently excelled in handling his accounts. In addition, he contributed valuable information and insights to other EXACT members regarding their customer situations. Some of the more notable customer situations included: • a flood of the commodities exchange computer room, • a fire in a major international bank’s computer room, • a fire in the computer room of a major department store retailer, • the anticipated threat to all software at the 2000 New Years • 9/11 (which affected several Tandem customers installations), • a diversification of computer sites for stock exchanges, • creation of mirror sites for a stock exchanges, • disappearance of a stock exchange’s customer account files in transit to storage, • planning and implementation of hardware upgrades at numerous international accounts, • difficult environments due to electrical supply methods and radiated electrical noise, etc. Michael’s work ethic, communication skills, personal and professional integrity are first rate. He would be an asset to any organization or endeavor that requires intelligence applied to complexity.”
